Position Summary:

The Technology group at Cellarity seeks a Bioinformatics/Computational Biology researcher to carry out and drive data analyses as part of a team developing and operating DNA sequencing and other cutting-edge laboratory methodologies. The work will include development of data analysis pipelines, rapid prototyping of analysis methods, optimization and validation of developing assays as well as implementation of QC processes. This role will work closely with laboratory scientists and interact with several groups including biology, technology, and machine learning. The candidate must be creative, detail and process oriented, have excellent communication skills, and eager to work in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzes transcriptome, single cell and other types of Illumina sequencing data, in support of laboratory operations
• Provides strategic data analysis and interpretation, including troubleshooting, in support of technology development
• Works collaboratively with a multi-functional team of scientists, bioengineers, software engineers and data scientists to create strategies for data analysis
• Works with new data types and supports development of new processes including prototyping of new data processing pipelines
• Identifies and implements analysis strategies to maximize data quality and utility
• Devises and implements data QC analysis modules
• Manages and operates bioinformatic data processing pipelines
• Tests and benchmarks tools, pipelines and systems

Requirements:

• MS Degree or relevant experience in a scientific or technical field
• Two or more years practical experience in bioinformatics analysis with Next Generation Sequencing data in an industry or industry-like setting
• Experience with analyzing, processing and troubleshooting transcriptome (RNA-seq) data
• Experience with single cell primary analysis strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Python required; proficiency with R a plus
• Experience with data quality control and pipeline documentation
• Familiarity with bioinformatic tools commonly used in the field
• Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with diverse group of scientists and engineers
