Job description

The Norfolk District Attorney's Office is seeking an experienced investigator to participate in the investigation and prosecution of larceny, embezzlement and financial fraud cases. Work closely with Assistant District Attorneys and State and Local law enforcement. Responsibilities include gathering voluminous financial documents, conducting detailed financial analysis, preparing financial summary reports, participating in witness interviews, and testifying in grand jury and state court.

* At least a Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting or related financial forensic field;
* Not less than three years' experience as a financial investigator/analyst;
* Two to three years prior experience with financial record review;
* The ability to work independently, and as a team member with others in the Financial Crimes Unit;
* Strong preference for former employees of Department of Revenue or Banking Institutions with investigative backgrounds;
* Strong communication skills;
* The ability to multitask and demonstrate proficient time management skills in handling several objectives concurrently;
* Experience with word processing, database, and spreadsheet software programs such as Excel, QuickBooks, and Bank-Scan; and
* Prior experience testifying in court proceedings preferred.
