The Translational Sciences Group in Sanofi strives to generate scientific knowledge that translates into transformative therapies for patients with unmet medical needs. Translational Sciences is building a world-class Genomics and Proteomics team that is passionate to contribute to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for patients. The Translational Sciences Biomarker team are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative Principal/Senior Principal Scientist with expertise building advanced immunoassays using the latest technologies to support biomarker profiling and quantification. The candidate will lead a team of scientists to develop and execute assays to support Sanofi early drug discovery efforts and translational research and development projects. She/he will provide the strategic insight into program support ensuring robust and innovative solutions towards the development of immunological assays and translatable biomarkers discovery. She/He is expected to explore, validate and implement the emerging cutting-edge immunoassay technologies that benefit biomarker profiling. She/he will be working in a fast-paced, and collaborative environment, with the opportunity to make a large impact to advance Sanofi's portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for applying scientific expertise and judgement to initiate, design, direct and execute immunoassays for biomarker profiling and quantification with variety of platforms, including MSD, SIMOA and OLINK platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with therapeutic area scientists and Clinical Biomarker leads for delivering high-quality biomarker data in a timely manner to support programs' strategy and goals.
  • Work closely with bioinformatics team to apply machine-learning and AI tools to biomarker data analytics and Pathway analyses.
  • Analyze, interpret and effectively present data to project teams. Deliver scientific reports and presentations internally or externally as needed.
  • Ability to create and maintain an effective scientific network through teamwork, excellent problem-solving skills and open collaborative style are of critical importance to the success of this role.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and methods to improve upon the quality and efficiency of immunoassays for biomarker profiling. Review relevant literature and leverage knowledge to solve problems in a timely fashion.
  • Manage the daily operation of the biomarker laboratory. Coordinate multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD in cell biology, biochemistry, pharmacology or enzymology fields with 5-10 years of experience with a focus on the drug discovery process.
  • Strong scientific background and experience with preclinical and clinical biomarker assay development and validation. Subject matter expert in analytical platforms such as immunoassays, companion diagnostics, etc.
  • Previous and deep experience in high-throughput cell-based immunoassay screening and/or single cell proteomics system (IsoPlexis) is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of scientific data analysis, graphing/visualization, and statistics is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge in immunology and oncology research is preferred to bring deep strategic input to program support.
  • Understanding of the regulatory expectations for pivotal biomarkers development and validation in clinical trials is considered a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated productive track record of sustained, significant scientific contributions by publications, patents and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to influence and inspire, preferably experienced in navigating and influencing large, highly complex, global matrixed environments with and without authority.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills, with proven ability to be assertive while building productive cross-functional relationships.
