Job description

Solidus is searching for Fiber Laser Engineer/Scientist. We are looking for a self-motivated engineer who can work successfully as part of a multi-disciplinary team taking novel fiber laser designs/technology from theory to prototype.

Required Skills:
- U.S. Citizen and Able to obtain a Security Clearance - an Active Secret Clearance highly preferred
- B.S. Degree and a minimum of 3 years experience
- Cladding Pump Experience
- Large diameter fiber (LDF) doped fiber amplifiers and/or some limit in high power laser systems
- Mitigating and studying nonlinear optics'(SRS, SBS, MMI/TMI)
- Thermal Management
- Laser Control Systems
- Non-Linear Fiber Optics Effects
- Familiarity with the characterization of high power fiber coupled pump source
Preferred Skills:
- Clean room experience
- Experience developing fiber pump combiners
- Cladding light strippers
- Fiber laser thermal solutions
