Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The People & Culture Specialist will provide support in the areas of HR compliance, recruitment, employee engagement, process improvement projects, employee relations and is responsible for assisting the Director of Human Resources with a variety of HR duties across LEO. In this position, the People & Culture Specialist will use their HR functional expertise to align critical human resources principles with business objectives.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

  • Facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

· Responsible for onboarding tasks, new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.

  • Along with the Director of Human Resources, serves as the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion champion, implementing programs focused on promoting culture that actively supports inclusion and equity for all employees.
  • Identify organizational needs and create and drive processes and workflows that are compliant, efficient and reflect our mission and values.
  • Set a clear, compelling vision for how to retain exceptional talent.
  • Advise and influence senior leadership on culture and positivity thru mentoring/coaching.
  • Build and reinforce our culture to encourage employees to build their careers.
  • Work with leaders to create comprehensive plan to influence lasting change.
  • Influence management to achieve great people outcomes through clear understanding of the organization's strategic initiative and goals.
  • Organize and collaborate with department on special projects and employee experience, employee events, social calendar, etc.

· Create and lead talent initiatives that improve team effectiveness, retention, talent forecasting, and succession planning.

  • Gather and interpret data to inform business decisions and recommendations that align with the business's risk tolerance.
  • Roll out programs to support staff and culture.
  • Solve problems, get to the root cause of any issue and implement solutions in a timely manner.
  • Empower managers to build and foster great teams.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service and effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrates understanding and commitment to the mission of LEO.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology or related area.
  • 3 yrs. experience as a change agent improving company culture.
  • Bilingual preferably English/Spanish
  • Thorough understanding of state and federal laws concerning employee relations.
  • Ability to remain tactful, calm and persuasive in controversial and /or confrontational situations.
  • Ability to coach Managers on how to lead their teams, navigate and resolve employee relations issues or manage programs that help develop staff.
  • Ability to drive company culture throughout the organization.
  • Ability to engage inspire and influence people across all levels
  • Be positive, kind and self-motivated by challenge in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Solid organizational and creative problem solving skills.
  • Strong people management skills
  • Strong computer and writing skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
