YourBio Health (formerly Seventh Sense Biosystems) has designed and developed TAP™, the world's first push-button blood collection device. It makes blood collection simple, convenient and virtually painless. TAP enables consumer collection so that lab tests can be performed in convenient, consumer-friendly settings like pharmacies and at home. The company was founded in 2008 and is funded by Novartis, LabCorp, Flagship Ventures, aMoon, H.U. Group and Newpath Partners.


We are seeking a talented Senior Director, Software Architect to join the YourBio Health team. This role will be a member of our technical leadership team, building and expanding upon Seventh Sense's state of the art at-home blood collection and lab services business. We are looking for someone who has the ability to inspire and build a strong software team to enable us to achieve our global health information delivery goals.


This position represents an opportunity to influence the evolution of our company's technical expansion in a material way. You'll work alongside engineering, design, R&D, and executive leadership to accelerate the growth of our business as we're hitting an exciting inflection point in our company's journey.


Responsibilities:

  • Deliver healthcare focused data driven e-commerce solutions to market .
  • Work directly with commercial leadership to refine project specifications and deliver an experience that consumers will love.
  • Define architecture strategy, balancing short and long-term views and conflicting requirements (e.g., security vs. performance) in alignment with the leadership team.
  • Own and maintain complex software solutions and environments especially within regulated environments like HIPAA and GDPR.
  • Establish Security by Design principles.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop the architectural runway and spikes in support of new business features and capabilities.
  • Deliver an optimal and consolidated architecture / design, leveraging new and existing technology and evaluating design alternatives including cost benefit analysis .
  • Lead improvement initiatives with regard to technological improvements and perform future-oriented studies with other specialists.


Education and Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Software Engineering, Informatics, or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience in (networked) medical services development of which at least 3 - 4 years as a Junior Software Architect
  • Extensive experience spec'ing, designing and implementing software solutions to meet business needs and opportunities.
  • Strong technical skills in full-stack software development, including data architectures and cloud development.
  • Proven track record of object-oriented analysis and design.
  • Good knowledge of state-of-the-art tool sets used in the software development.
  • Knowledge of Cloud based tools and DevOps best practices.
  • Proven track record with development methodologies like Agile/Scrum.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead globally distributed teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to travel 25%
