Description

Armstrong Advisory Group "AAG" is looking for an experienced macroeconomic portfolio manager to add to our investment team. This position will report directly to our Chief Investment Officer and will be responsible for assisting the team in developing investment ideas for client portfolios. This individual will be responsible for assisting in research, modeling, valuation, asset allocation, position sizing, and creating client portfolios that seek to balance long-term growth strategies with near-term income needs for households.

This role also includes significant communications responsibilities, both for internal and external dissemination. This individual would regularly discuss world markets and economies with our investment advisors to inform them on key topics for client meetings. Written skills are highly valued as well, as regular write-ups on market and economic trends for clients are a key component of the position. This role will also have regular interactions with our back-office team to inform them of all reporting needs to ensure efficient production of any needed materials.

An Assistant Portfolio Manager at AAG requires a high level of independent, analytical work, strong interpersonal skills, as well as sound investment judgment. Qualified candidates will have financial industry background with experience in public equity and ETF investing, and outstanding organizational skills. The successful candidate will have a track record of leading collaborative research projects and will have a demonstrated affinity for working in a team setting across all levels of the firm. He or she will be passionate about using investments as a tool to help our clients improve their lives for the better. This position is available

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree from accredited undergraduate institution
  • MBA/CFA/CAIA preferred
  • 5+ years of investment experience with strong understanding of financial markets
  • Knowledge of portfolio construction, weighting, and position sizing
  • Prior experience making investment decisions or recommendations
  • Developed understanding how market data is used to inform investment decisions
  • Comfortable manipulating data within various applications/systems
  • Technical knowledge of Refinitiv, Envestnet Tamarac, and Microsoft Excel strongly preferred
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Attention to detail
