Job description

Our client, a recognized leader in the Greater Boston area is looking to add a Strategic Financial Analyst to the Finance team ASAP. This is a position added due to growth with a great career track for the right personality. This role will be a hybrid position as we move from remote and head back to the office in some part.


The Strategic Financial Analyst will be supporting the Senior Manager of Strategic Finance as well as the VP. In terms of day-to-day duties, in addition to directly supporting senior leadership on all matters FP&A and strategic finance decisions, pricing and modeling by product/business, industry trending/research, product launch analysis and strategy, long-term competitive landscape/forecasting.


Strategic Financial Analyst responsibilities:


  • Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data
  • Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions
  • Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management


Strategic Financial Analyst qualifications:


  • Strong grasp of financial concepts
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related major required; Master's degree a plus
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a business environment in a financial analysis or accounting role required
  • CFA or CPA helpful but not required
