Position Description Job SummaryThe Research Technician safely performs specialized R&D assignments, involving testing, analyzing, improving, installing, operating, and/or solving problems concerning our processes, equipment, and products. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports engineers and scientists in R&D team with their projects. Executes and/or supports commercial and manufacturing support requests. Manages and documents projects and tasks effectively with supervision. Plays role in lab management: safety aspects, equipment maintenance, 5S, lab audit preparation and action follow-up, lab postings, regular equipment checks etc. Demonstrates open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility. Conducts hands-on experimental work. COMPETENCIES: Oral and written communication skills Familiarity with reporting software such as Microsoft word and excel Demonstrated hands-on experimental work history Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety operations Ability to work with a diverse project team in an open and collaborative mode Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Required Qualifications High School diploma or GED (demonstrated equivalent) with 0-5 years of experience in Technical related field of study/interest or Associates degree in an engineering, technical, or science related field (or demonstrated equivalent), including technical related independent project (preferred) Company SummarySaint-Gobain Research (SGR) North America is one of Saint-Gobain's largest industrial research laboratories.
