The Financial Controller - Construction will work for a well-established, general commercial construction company located near Peabody, MA. The position itself is newly created due to company growth and will report to Executive Level leadership. The Construction Company has a strong portfolio of projects and revenue is expected to double of the next financial year. Description
The Financial Controller - Construction will be responsible for the following:
- Spearhead the client draw process (A/R), includes supplying AIA docs, Sworn Statements, and waivers.
- Oversee accounts payable (A/P) billing approvals, entry, payments, and collection of vendor paperwork.
- Manage payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
- Coordinate with project management team to maintain balanced project budgets, accurate purchase orders/subcontracts, change orders and vendor paperwork.
- Maintain accuracy of the accounting software and the paired construction management system, Procore. Reporting to Executive Management
- Create the month-end closeouts: reconcile all accounts for four companies, prepare and analyze financial statements, and ensure financial reporting is accurate and delivered on time.
- Create and produce monthly internal reconciliations, budget to actuals, variance analysis, monthly schedules etc. to the owner to keep him up to date on the financials on an on-going basis.
- Analyze project costs, WIP and labor costs.
- Complete year-end close for review, audit, and tax purposes.
- Create and file all 1099's for subcontractors.
- Manage the cash flow projection process, project budgeting and reporting.
- Complete special projects as requested by the management team.
Profile
The Financial Controller - Construction requires the following skill sets and qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Related Degree
- Construction Accounting/ERP System Software prior usage - implementing new software in 2022
- 10 - 15+ years of Construction Accounting experience
- Prior Finance Leadership essential
