The role can be located near any DPS headquarters - Warsaw, IN; Raynham, MA; West Chester, PA; Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) are healthcare facilities that perform surgery without requiring hospital admission and are generally associated with a lower length of stay. More and more Orthopaedic procedures are moving into this setting as Medicare and other payors are reimbursing and many analysts predict that 80% of Orthopaedic procedures will be done in this space by 2025, which makes this one of the fastest-growing, most dynamic channels of our business. The Director of Marketing reports to the Sr. Director of U.S. Sales and Marketing for ASC and will be responsible for the development of a coordinated U.S. marketing strategy. Integration of marketing strategy into sales execution for ASCs will be key to success. They will collaborate with multiple functions, including Sales, Finance, Strategic Customer Group (SCG), Health Economics & Market Access (HEMA), Global Business Insights (GBI), US & Global Strategic Marketing and Corporate Communications, Commercial Operations, Professional & Commercial Education, as well as outside agencies and vendors to successfully implement key commercial activities. They will lead a team of marketing professionals (including team members that also lead people) and will hire, train, and develop the marketing team members while building an inclusive environment where the team can be the best version of themselves every day!

Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop a coordinated ASC Business Plan across Hip, Knee, Shoulders, Trauma & Extremities, Surgical Sports and Spine
  • Establish an annual Marketing Plan aligned to budget and implement promotional tactics with a focus on innovation
  • Develop strategies and tactics to support the ASC Value Proposition
  • Develop new concepts and products, portfolio management and prioritization of new opportunities through financial modeling and gap analysis
  • Coordinate profitability, forecast, and market share attainment for each platform within the ASC channel
  • Apply market research and analytics to gain insights to help prioritize resources and adapt tactics as needed
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the field on promotional activities
  • Support development of evidence generation plan for the ASC portfolio to strengthen the value proposition
  • Work with SCG and other partners on market access strategy and tactics
  • Work compliantly and within regulatory guidelines to achieve goals
  • Work closely with ASC Field Director, platform marketing partners, Sr. Director of Sales & Marketing, and Innovation Director to ensure appropriate resources and organizational alignment to capitalize on short-term and long-term business opportunities

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant business experience (Sales/Marketing) is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive marketing experience is required.
  • Experience developing brand strategy and positions preferred. Experience preparing strategic briefs and resolving implementation issues preferred.
  • Educational Degree requirement - A bachelor's degree is required. MBA preferred.
  • Industry experience required - At least 2 years of healthcare experience with proven success
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to navigate and achieve business impact across the organization is required
  • Shown knowledge of brand marketing, customer segmentation and marketing communications is preferred
  • Experience in customer selling and interaction is preferred
  • Leadership, strong communication, relationship development, collaboration, project management and organizational influence skills is required.
  • Any DePuy Synthes headquarters; the position will require up to 30% travel.
