Staff Accountant (Cost)

Construct and monitor cost-effective data accumulation systems required to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management. The Cost Accountant is responsible for conducting moderately complex cost audits, preparation and analysis of cost reports by following cost accounting procedures and methods. Conducts ongoing analysis of process and tracing costs back to underlying activities.

Maintain integrity of material master data
Maintain costing of all product in material master
Work with import department and category managers to assure that all new items are submitted with complete costing data
Constant review of inventory and purchasing variances
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline costing processes
Ongoing FIFO testing to assure compliance with SEC guidelines
Special projects as assigned by Corporate Controller

Requirements

BS Degree
1+ years of accounting experience
Strong excel skills (pivot tables, Vlookup, etc.)
Strong communication skills
Self0starter with ability to work independently
Experience with SAP preferred
