Job description
- This position is 100% REMOTE within the United States to start but must be willing to relocate to Springfield, MA and work on site post Covid pandemic
- Project Description:
- Our Client seeks an experienced Business Analyst from the Investment Operations and Accounting discipline. The candidate will work with Investment Management (IM) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders to formulate and define business and/or systems scope, requirements and objectives for a variety of middle and back-office projects.
- The candidate will lead requirements definition sessions ensuring that the team articulates requirements and specifications. They will use their analyst skills and techniques, in consideration with the obtained requirements, and knowledge of the current ecosystem/platforms to formulate business and system requirements.
- The Investment Business Analyst must have a solid background in the investment management domain including asset accounting and operations. It is preferred if the candidate has a technical leaning in their background to assist with business solution flows and integration point definition.
- Responsibilities:
- • Perform requirements management planning for medium to large scale projects
- • Lead business analysis across multiple parallel initiatives
- • Gather and document functional and non-functional requirements
- • Facilitate and drive requirements gathering sessions
- • Collaborate with business and systems experts
- • Lead analysis of business processes, procedures, data and rules
- • Negotiate and influence requirements direction
- • Perform analysis and evaluation of business processes, information and rules
- • Make a determination of alternatives for optimizing business processes
- • Identify solutions to business problems
- • Create business process models, context diagrams and use case models
- • Apply knowledge of formal requirement elicitation best practices
- • Help or facilitate process improvement and/or process mapping sessions
- • Adhere to formal software development processes and procedures
- • Define, and update documentation tools such as business terminology stored in the master business glossary and data dictionaries
- • Develop test cases based on project requirements
- • Conduct functional testing
- • Mentor less seasoned business analysts
- Mandatory Skills Description:
- • At least 5 years of professional experience working in the investment management and technology space.
- • Experience with investment master data management, reporting, and analytics projects a plus
- • Demonstrated ability to partner with investment personnel to elicit and advance requirements
- • Experienced in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, preferably in a software development environment
- • Seasoned individual capable of handling broad scope projects that have medium to long-term focus
- • Demonstrated ability to understand how tasks and milestones collaborate and connect across related projects.
- • Capable of applying knowledge to handle all but the most complex problems independently
- • Strong organizational and time management skills
- • Candidates must combine an attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture
- • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using verbal and written methods
- • Proficient experience with Project Management tools such as Atlassian Jira, Zephyr for Jira, Smartsheets as well as MS Office Suite (Project, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- • Certified in PMI-PBA or CBAP is desired but not required

- A Bachelor's degree is required.
