Job description

As our Field Application Engineer, you will be a part of a small, fast-moving Warehouse Robotics team, helping to solve challenging warehouse logistics problems. Every day, you will be both on the road and in the office, working alongside the Sales team to demo the Stretch mobile robot's capabilities in customer applications, while supporting the Engineering team with the installation and integration of Stretch into complete Warehouse Robotic systems. To thrive in this role, you must be comfortable interacting with customers in the field in a live environment and be confident in your ability to communicate technical information in such a way that all audiences can easily understand the capabilities of the Stretch system.

Day to day activities:

* Provide pre-sales and technical support for the Stretch system

* Conduct pre-sales feasibility studies and use these studies to create and deliver feasibility reports

* Conduct demonstrations of the Stretch system at customer sites, trade shows, seminars, and events

* Assist in the installation and commissioning of Stretch systems at customer sites

* Train System Integration partners, customers' internal automation engineering teams, and end-user operators to use the Stretch system

* Troubleshoot issues, resolve problems, and create evaluation reports at customer sites

* Provide product feedback, application details, and other voice-of-customer input to the product development team

* Contribute to the development of technical sales proposals

Desired skills:

* Proven experience interacting with sales teams and customers while dealing with sensitive customer situations

* Experience in creating and presenting summary reports/slide decks to both internal and external stakeholders

* Ability to use CAD rendering tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA or equivalent

* Solid understanding of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu) and networking devices (routers, switches, and firewalls)

* Robot, PLC, and/or computer vision programming experience

* Familiarity with at least one programming language such as C, C++, C# or equivalent

Travel:

* Up to 50% travel, including international and on short notice when needed
