Overview

The Sr. Specialist, Business Analyst works closely with Operations Analysts and our clients' to support service delivery through the D&A Content Hub and Eagle products that interface with a broad range of external vendors and BNYM Asset servicing platforms. The role provides process development and support for the business operations teams who are managing data quality, stewarding of job execution and workflows, data enrichment, and a wide variety of information delivery to client's and their external partners.

The candidate will provide a business analyst role to support the technology used for data stewarding, data mgmt. and entitlement functions for the D&A content hub and Eagle products. S/he works collaboratively with analysts, product owners, developers, service managers, and operational teams as well as with a variety of teams within the BNY Mellon's Asset Servicing business to clearly define systems, business, and functional requirements to support the design and overall delivery of solutions to our clients.

Position requires an individual that is self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision. The individual needs to be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment and be able to handle changing priorities. The individual will be required to interface with other groups within the company and must be able to demonstrate an ability to work in a professional, cooperative manner.

Primary tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Document and validate business requirements related to Performance measurement, Financial Data Management, and Portfolio Accounting
  • Create functional specifications
  • Configure custom solutions using D&A products
  • Be the liaison between the EMS developers, EMS operations and other teams
  • Create test plans and perform system testing
  • Research issues and bugs
  • Use querying tools to access and analyze financial data
  • Assist clients and internal teams on effectively accessing and consuming data content as well advising on data governance best practices
  • Work on an agile/scrum based team
  • Some travel may be required but mostly limited to an occasional client visit


Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 5-7 years of total work experience. Securities, financial products and/or the finance industry experience preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business..
