Overview:

The Orthodontic Manager is a critical role for the orthodontic traveling team. Their responsibilities include removing barriers to patient care, driving an exceptional patient experience, providing operational support and improvement to the workflow, and ensure patients begin treatment. During the initial examination, they partner with the Orthodontist to present information regarding available treatment options, as well as estimated insurance coverage and financing options. They are an example of leadership to their team and are responsible for the support and success of the ortho team to which they are assigned.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for building strong relationships with the offices to which their team travels.
Partner to the Practice Managers, Directors and other office team to ensure the success of the orthodontic traveling team.
An effective communicator and collaborates well with others.
When faced with conflict or a challenge, he/she can see solutions and resolve matters quickly and effectively. When solutions are more challenging to find, they use their resources (teammates, managers, etc.) to come up with solutions that benefit all members of the team.
Promotes a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.
Ensure the proper staff is scheduled for the offices to which they are providing orthodontic care to patients.
Ensure HR guidelines are met regarding payroll/breaks and effectively communicates necessary company changes to their team.
Manage the schedules of the traveling members in partnership with the Specialties Manager and holds staff meetings and huddles as needed to support the team.
Order supplies for each office so the proper supplies are available while keeping within their budget.
Oversee compliance of their team, ensuring items such as name tags are worn, proper attire and necessary licenses are up to date and forwarded to HR.
Cooperate with compliance guidelines and work with other departments to make necessary adjustments immediately.
Must be a self-starter with the motivational skills to rally the team to see consults and to ensure patients start treatment.
Work with the orthodontic coordinator to ensure consults are booked and patients who have had a consult are followed up on.
Use performance goals and company approved bonus plans to help keep staff engaged and works with the Specialties Manager to provide regular performance feedback.
Identify areas of needed training and works with the Specialties Manager and their Othodontist to ensure the teams skill level continuously improves.
Use reporting to follow through on targets and drive key initiatives with the team.
Focus on improving consult to banding rates, identify areas of opportunity and take action to ensure patients accept treatment.
Positively enforce company initiatives and the implementation of new technology to help improve consults and drive higher case acceptance.
Ensure their primary focus is on patient care and driving a positive patient experience.
Must be quick to resolve patient complaints, identifiying easily when a patient is dissatisfied and do their best to ensure a positive outcome.
Work with the ortho coordinator to ensure schedules are booked appropriately, payments are received, and patients are addressed when they miss appointments or fall behind on payments.
Qualifications:
Self-starter who is able to effectively motivate and lead a team to hit their targets.
Strong ability to resolve conflict and use critical thinking skills to improve operational processes that ensure a successful schedule and productive day.
Strong attention to detail to ensure quotes of cases are as accurate as possible.
Strong mathematical skills and can calculate payments.
Detail oriented and ensure all contracts are signed and ensure the front desk scans these documents in.
Must be comfortable speaking with patients and presenting treatment in a way that ensures patients go to treatment.
Reliable and have effective time management as the ortho schedules are busy and require meticulous scheduling and planning.
3-5 years of management experience required
Field of study: Must be a licensed Dental Assistant in the State of employment
