Our client, a leader in the specialty chemical and ingredients distribution industry, is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Manager for a direct hire role in Westborough, MA.

HANDS ON ROLE
Overview
The IT Infrastructure Manager will be an integral part of the IT team and responsible for designing, maintaining, and deploying the IT infrastructure for the six (6) subsidiaries/entities. This position manages all department employees and is responsible for performance management, training, team building, and succession planning.
Responsibilities
• Directly responsible for our networking infrastructure (setup and maintenance) - vpns, firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and routers.
• Directly responsible for securely maintaining site to site communication; remote access to our sites; and our cloud providers.
• Work with our MSP to escalate issues.
• Design and deploy network for our hybrid cloud future state.
• Deploy EDR and monitor the management of the software.
• Responsible for ongoing server maintenance and setup.
• Proficiency with Microsoft server products (OS and AD.).
• Recommend and implement virtualization VMWare / Hyper-V.
• Ability to scope out projects and work with the IT Director to develop a budget for new projects.
• Positive attitude and approach to technical issues and challenges, as well as peer interactions.
• Windows user profile and Outlook profile management.
• Understanding of workstation hardware, ability to swap out internal components such as system memory, hard drives, video cards, etc.
• Proficiency in handling virus and malware removal.
• Familiarity with cloud services such as Microsoft O365, Google Apps for Work, and Dropbox-style file sync and sharing systems, etc.
• Experience troubleshooting mobile devices (Android and iOS phones and tablets).
• Manage a small team of Desktop Support Technicians; provide mentorship for their customer service and technical skills; deliver constructive feedback and assess performance.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of Information Technology experience, particularly in network and server experience.
• Management experience preferred.
• Experience of broad range of technologies and architecture commensurate with the needs of a growing distribution company with multiple sites.
• Has worked in an MSP or Smaller Company as System/Network Engineer. Understands SMB.
• Experience with Sonic Walls, Active Directory, Mimecast, Office 365.

• Participation in occasional paid evening and weekend on-call assignments.
• Reliable car for transportation (we reimburse for mileage).
• Ability to lift 35 lbs; we often have to deliver workstations and other hardware.
• CCNA certification or similar networking certification a plus.
• Must have technical knowledge of infrastructure technology both on premise and Cloud based, including server management, LAN/WAN/Wireless networking, storage, security, SSL and site-to-site VPN communications, etc.
