Job description

The Role:

Guardian Ag is seeking a fabricator to assist in the development of unmanned and automated agricultural equipment and support systems. As this company is forging a new branch of an enormous industry, the candidate will have a significant impact on the future of agriculture through critical thinking and personal initiative.

Guardian Ag has an extremely well equipped and constantly expanding fabrication shop including Haas VF5, Bend Tech Dragon CNC Plasma Cutter, tube bending and notching equipment, Miller Dynasty TIG welder, Miller 211 MIG welder, Belovac thermoforming machine, CO2 CNC laser cutter, fixture table and accessories. We are looking for an experienced detail oriented fabricator and equipment operator. (CNC equipment training will be provided)

Pictures of previous work are required for application

Job Responsibilities:

  • TIG welding of aluminum drone chassis' comprised of complex laser cut tubes, extrusions, and sheets
  • Work from engineering drawings (and sometimes back-of-napkin sketches) to cut, lay out, and weld structures and components
  • Ability to design, communicate and build ground based charging stations, tank mounts, carts, truck modifications, ect
  • Basic mechanical repairs and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
  • Assemble mechanical and 12v electronic components with hand tools
  • Work closely with design team to develop fabrication work instructions
  • Develop welding fixturing using precision welding table
  • Prep and fine tune fitment of laser cut parts prior to welding
  • Organization and cleaning of fabrication and mechanical assembly area
  • Document part inventory
  • Maintain raw material inventory

Requirements/Skills

  • TIG and MIG welding experience aluminum and steel
  • Experience welding complex tube structures such as roll cages
  • Experience fixturing precision weldment to precise tolerances
  • Experience cutting, grinding, and bending metal
  • Tube notching and bending
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and assembly procedures
  • Basic math and algebra skills
  • Painting and paint preparation
  • Race car, custom fabrication, or aircraft experience is a plus
  • Solidworks or equivalent experience is a plus
