Director of Pharmacy
Ascension Borgess Allegan Hospital
Allegan, Michigan
Schedule: This position is scheduled to work at least 40 hours per week. The schedule works varying 12 hour day shifts Monday-Friday 7am to 7pm and a 4 hour shift every Saturday or Sunday.
As a full time, exempt CPS® Director of Pharmacy, you will oversee all pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs with assistance from a full support team.
About the Facility: Ascension Borgess Allegan Hospital is a 25 bed not-for-profit, critical access hospital which will become Joint Commission accredited in the fall of 2021. The original Allegan General Hospital was incorporated in May 1938 as the Allegan Health Center. The hospital joined Ascension Health Michigan on September 1, 2019. Hospital services include behavioral health, oncology, cardiac rehabilitation, emergency, orthopedics, pain management, medical/surgical, respiratory, pulmonary and physical rehabilitation. The pharmacy is CPS® has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS®.
Required Qualifications:
* BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy
* Michigan Pharmacist licensure in good standing
* Management experience in a healthcare/hospital environment
* Ability to solve problems, establish trust and credibility
* Demonstrated teaching, relevant professional publications and involvement with Professional organizations
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, respond to client concerns and work cooperatively with other staff.
Hospital Requirements:
* (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
* COVID vaccine
Required Qualifications:
* BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy
* Licensed pharmacist in the State of Michigan in good standing
* 2+ years recent pharmacy management in a hospital setting
* Ability to solve problems, establish trust and credibility
* Ability to deal effectively with change
