Job description

Having energized and friendly front office staff with a welcoming and compassionate demeanor is essential to delivering quality care and creating success. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for greeting patients and providing support to the clinical team. Job duties include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, scanning, and answering phones while providing excellent customer service. Medical experience and billing knowledge is a plus.

Hours: 4pm to 8:30pm M-F PART TIME

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Open/close office (unlock doors, turn on all equipment, etc.)
  • Keeping office space and waiting area clean and organized
  • Maintaining accurate, updated patient information in the EMR
  • Answer phone lines to schedule appointments or answer patient inquiries
  • Greet patients with a friendly demeanor and assist with new client registration
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows 10 and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Filing, faxing, and scanning documentation into EMR
  • Fluent with retrieving insurance eligibility from 3rd party accounts; online or phone
  • Call prospective patients and notify those with copays daily
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to communicate professionally with patients, family members of patients, the general public of all age levels from children to senior citizens, clinicians, medical staff, contractors, referral agencies, and insurance payers
  • Comfortable processing multiple forms of copays
  • Ensures regulatory compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, labor laws, and other federal, state, and local regulations
  • Assist in any other miscellaneous office functions as needed.

Experience & Education:

  • 1 year experience in medical office required
  • Prior behavioral health experience preferred
  • High School Diploma minimum

Covid-19 Precautions:

  • Wipe down, sanitize, disinfect common surfaces
  • Masks required if not fully vaccinated

Reports to and is under the supervision of the Office Manager

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
