Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Machine Operator, Injection Molding, operates or tends to plastic injection molding machines to produce parts. The Machine Operator, Injection Molding reports to the Manager, Operations.

This is a contingent worker temporary position. If you are selected for this position, you will be employed through an agency, not directly though Orchid. However, you may be eligible for conversion to an employee position after only a few months in this role.

CHE - Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America - Michigan)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Injection molding operator reports directly to the area Supervisor.
  • Operates multiple machines simultaneously.
  • Monitors the machine to ensure proper program performance.
  • Completes shop work orders, inspection documentation, and daily maintenance sheets.
  • Makes off sets and adjustments to machines with moderate supervision.
  • Advocates for the health and safety of self, co-workers, customers, and the community.
  • Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Completes all required training.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

WORK EXPERIENCE
1+ Years of experience operating machining equipment in a manufacturing environment (Required), Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing (Preferred), Lean manufacturing experience (Preferred)

EDUCATION
High School Or Equivalent Required, , ,

CERTIFICATIONS
Machining - Trade School

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams or malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary
  • Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments
  • Visually inspect parts for defects
  • Position and secure work pieces on machines to regulate pressure, speed rates, temperature, feed rates, and to set cycle times
  • Support quality and compliance by utilizing One Orchid global processes and complying with all Quality Management Systems (QMS) documentation requirements and establishing/supporting plan(s) to meet/exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Quality that support Safety, Compliance, Six Sigma Quality, On-Time Delivery (OTD) and financial objectives.
