This is a contract position; however it is not uncommon for assignments to transition into permanent positions with our client companies. Workers Compensation Financial Analyst
Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as a Workers Compensation Financial Analyst will include:
- Compensation (Range): / hour: $26.00 - 28.00 hr
- Responsible for financial reporting including actual spend, variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting for Workers' Compensation Department. Perform monthly account reconciliations, journal entries and accruals. Assists with the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Assists with annual data collection for administrative expense and operational metric benchmarking surveys. Assists with preparation of financial forecasts in conjunction with the strategic planning process. Act as a technical liaison through the completion of ongoing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements. Maintains workers' compensation surety bonds. Prepares reports using SQL data
- Skills Required:
- Analyze financial data and provide forecasting support • Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking • Evaluate current and previous financial data • Study business and economic trends • Preparing accounting and other required reports and projections based on the analysis performed • Provide financial models • Provide recommendations for improvement based on trends • Coordinate with other members of the finance team, when required to review financial information and forecasts • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards • Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools

Job Requirements
As a Workers Compensation Financial Analyst you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- 0-3 years of experience in business finance or other relevant experience • Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases and financial software • Proven knowledge of financial forecasting • Outstanding reporting, presentation and communication skills • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint • Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions • Strong quantitative and analytical competency • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's in Math, Statistics, Finance, Economics or Accounting preferred
