Job description

Under the direction of the Site Manager, the Clerical Assistant provides administrative support to ensure efficient operation of Behavioral Health Services within Cherry Health. The Clerical Assistant works closely with Patient Registration Specialists and Clinical staff from behavioral health programs as well as patients and public to ensure proper and accurate information is collected or distributed. The tasks performed are a variety of administrative and clerical tasks as well as patient interaction through outreach.

Must adhere to the organizational Policies, Procedures, Code of Ethics, and all licensing and accreditation standards of the position. Must represent the organization's Mission in all actions and communications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle administrative tasks
  • Provide support to clinical staff
  • Request and Maintain authorizations
  • Generate documents and Mail, fax, email appropriate coordination of care, intake, and discharge paperwork
  • Maintain confidential correspondence
  • Place phone calls to patients for outreach and engagement
  • Document appropriately in Electronic Health Record
  • Maintain program enrollment
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATES:

High School Diploma or GED required. Associates degree Associate's degree with a major in business administration or health care administration from an accredited program preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

One to three years of clerical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed above. Experience in a behavioral health setting helpful.
