Expanding the commercial results in Automotive Advanced Electronic Systems, demands driven, powerful technical leadership to MIH ("make it happen"). "America's Top 30 Innovator" seeks an experienced key engineering Team member with proven ability to join our advanced Electronic Technology Team.


Skills & Experience

BSEE with 5+ years of direct, hands-on product design experience developing automotive electronics. The ideal candidate should have the ability to creatively solve embedded design problems to maximize system performance and safety while minimizing cost. This position requires a detailed understanding of embedded control systems, electronic design practices, and automotive systems.

  • Proficiency using EDA software for PCB design and layout, especially with EMC compliance in mind
  • Hardware knowledge related to microcontrollers (Atmel, Microchip, Freescale, etc)
  • Ability to analyze system technical issues (root cause analysis) and develop appropriate resolutions
  • Proficient use of laboratory test equipment (multimeters, scopes, logic/power analyzer), test setup proficiency
  • Understanding of automotive EMC requirements
  • Expertise with sensor interfaces, signal conditioning, filtering, and control algorithms
  • Expertise with digital and analog outputs, drivers, motor controls, current sensing, etc.
  • Practical knowledge of serial interfaces (J1708 / 1939, CAN, LIN, and/or similar)
  • Quality system tools including PPAP, FMEA, APQP, DVP&R, etc.
  • Superior communication skills, can present ideas in a clear, concise manner
  • A highly motivated team player who contributes to an atmosphere in which team members collaboratively, enthusiastically, and effectively produce results
  • Must be flexible with the ability to change, adapt, and grow
  • Exhibits passion for the mission of the company and the projects / programs


Responsibilities:

  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams during development of automotive products from concept to production
  • Collaborate closely with other design engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel
  • Develop technical specifications based on customer requirements
  • Participate in system design reviews and recommend improvements
  • Assist in determining project budgets and timelines
  • Design digital and/or analog circuits
  • Design and develop with EDA software, schematic capture, PCB layout
  • Assist in developing hardware / software test plans
  • Analyze requirements and write hardware requirements documents and specifications
  • Develop systems to internal and external requirements
  • Prototype root cause product analysis
  • Automotive component and vehicle test (EMI/EMC)
  • Release designs to production
  • Create EOL tester specifications and follow development to production
  • Support production with testing and engineering changes
