Job description

POSITION PURPOSE

The Controller takes a leadership role in the accounting, compliance, and investment functions of the credit union, fostering teamwork through raising the profile of financial analysis, accounting, and compliance throughout the organization.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES



  • 35% Develop and maintain comprehensive financial reporting and analysis to deliver to all stakeholders, including the board and management.


  • 30% Direct and support accounting staff with reconciliations, accounts payable, accruals, etc., ensuring that general ledgers are maintained according to GAAP and regulation.


  • 10% Direct and support Compliance Officer to build compliance programs that improve and manage the credit union's compliance risk profile, enable all departments to achieve compliance, and build a culture of compliance throughout the credit union.


  • 10% Complete required reporting to regulators and other government agencies. Act as a key point of contact for audits and exams.


  • 10% Participate in and support the Assets and Liabilities Committee, including developing and maintaining necessary reporting.


  • 5% Work with investment advisors and management to administer the credit union's investment portfolio, including initial and ongoing due diligence and reviews.
