**Batteries Simulation Engineer - Direct Hire**


Kelly Engineering Resources is searching for a **Batteries Simulation Engineer** as we partner with Our Next Energy (ONE), a very successful startup that develops high voltage batteries for a variety of applications including electric vehicles. **ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY**


+ Responsibilities to develop, maintain, and conduct high voltage (HV) Li-Ion battery cell and pack level life, power performance, and thermal analysis, develop battery physics-based and equivalent circuit models (ECM) based on test results, and provide technical advises to internal and external customers for the design optimization of HV automotive Li-Ion battery packs.


+ Act as the subject matter expert on battery pack power performance, thermal, and life simulations, conduct simulations on battery packs, modules, and cell levels, verify design concepts, provide assessments and recommendations for battery sizing, compliance, and thermal management system design.


+ Develop and participate in test and validation activities for verification and validation of battery cells, including test plan setup, test involvements, project schedule, and result analyses.


+ Analyze cell test data and develop ECM models and life models, use the models developed for module and pack level simulations.


+ Develop battery Simulink plant models for BMS development needs.


+ Involve in future development of software/hardware for simulation support.


+ Interact with validation engineers to conduct root cause analysis and provide technical proposals and solutions to resolve engineering problems.


+ Participate in benchmarking activities.


+ Perform any additional duties as assigned


**EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE**


+ M.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, PhD is preferred


+ At least 3 years of industrial experiences in battery ECM and life model developments, as well as battery power performance and life analysis


+ Advanced knowledge in electrochemistry, computing algorithms, and heat and mass transfer


+ Strong programing skills with MATLAB and Simulink


+ Working knowledge of Battery Electric Vehicles, Electrochemistry and Li-Ion batteries and cell design


+ High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult


+ Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative


+ Ability to work with others and independently with limited supervision; take proactive role in executing assignments in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment


+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills


+ Ability to multitask, prioritize workload based on changing needs and manage through conflicting perspectives
