Job description

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to support our day-to-day transactions, including accounts payable, bank deposits, journal entries, and associated reporting. If you have an accounting background and are interested in procedures like bookkeeping and managing spreadsheets, we'd like to meet you. Ultimately, you'll help maintain our financial health and make sure we use our resources beneficially.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare checks for accounts payable
  • Prepare deposits
  • Prepare and enter journal entries
  • Spreadsheet report data entry
  • Maintain financial records, such as canceled checks, bank statements, events records
  • Monitor parochial report and other congregational reporting
  • Occasional on-site events support

Skills

  • Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
  • MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors
  • Knowledge of non-profit and/or church accounting preferred
  • Knowledge of ACS accounting software preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
