Our firm is seeking the right person to join its national marketing team in the firm's Troy, Michigan headquarters as Marketing and Events Coordinator. We're looking for a dynamic individual with a flair for marketing and a passion for event planning.
Working closely with the Marketing team, the Marketing and Events Coordinator will help support various marketing initiatives for the firm and its subsidiaries, as well as take ownership of the planning and execution of internal/external events to promote the firm's visibility and growth. This person will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, but gain hands-on exposure working with firm shareholders across all practice areas.
Responsibilities:
- Manage firm sponsor process and related activities.
- Maintain client relationship management software with correct data and campaign results.
- Secure promotional collateral for events.
- Provide administrative support for sales and marketing activities, including presentations, updating professional resumes, research on prospects/clients, mailings, etc., when necessary.
- Manage event marketing through a variety of channels, such as webcasts, conferences, roundtables, third-party networking opportunities, trade shows, association gatherings, golf outings and employee events nationwide.
- Perform research in order to gain deep understanding of different audiences, requirements and details of potential events.
- Solicit and negotiate with vendors to receive quotes for food/beverage selections, audiovisual service, transportation, travel, entertainment, decor, venue, etc.
- Work with niche/geo marketing leaders and technical experts to develop the agenda and secure speakers for event, when necessary.
- Coordinate pre-event planning activities, including speaker huddles and event promotion, to ensure smooth execution of event.
- Assist with the development of deliverables for each event, if applicable.
- Manage registration process for events, as necessary.
- Coordinate and perform on-site/day-of event oversight.
- Offer solutions to resolve problems related to the event in a timely manner.
- Track expenses and assist with reconciliations to execute within each event's budget.
- Track and report on event results, as well as coordinate post-event planning meeting with niche/geo marketing leaders and technical experts to ensure follow-up efforts are executed.
- Complete ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, hospitality or related area.
- 1-2 years of marketing or event planning experience required.
- Strong stills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel are required.
- Professional sector and business-to-business industry experience a plus.
- Effective time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as follow-up skills, and ability to work and interact effectively with stakeholders and external audiences across all locations.
- Ability to travel for events across the United States.
