**JOB DESCRIPTION**


**Summary:**


The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that product quality requirements are identified and implemented in order to meet customer requirements. Ensuring that the systems/criteria are developed, documented, and maintained for consistent quality assurance.


**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**


+ Work with all levels of the Oxford team to ensure customer concerns and requirements are understood and communicated


+ Access Portal daily to review customer concerns


+ Stop production when required to ensure customer satisfaction


+ Evaluate nonconforming material and identifies and reports on quality problems or trends for suppliers


+ Assist in the preparation of 8-D's, 5P's, PPSC's and present the reports to the team members


+ Controls product quality through the development and use of P-FMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flow Charts, SPC, Operator Description Sheets, Quality Alerts, and creating Quality Gates into the production assembly process


+ Ensure containment on customer/supplier quality issues and at customer/supplier


+ Quality Auditor


+ Perform 5S audits with all lines on a monthly basis and follow-up on all nonconformance's with the Quality Manager


+ Perform safety audits with all lines on a monthly basis and follow-up on all nonconformance's with the Quality Manager


+ Interact with suppliers to complete first time submissions. Coordinate with Materials and Production departments to insure effective, on-time implementation.


+ Recommends corrective actions and reports on corrective action status


+ Support product launches and ensures that process changes are communicated to the supplier and meet customer requirements


+ Knowledge of TS-16949 and manuals


+ Develops benchmarking and continuous improvement activities that increase customer satisfaction and exceed their expectations


+ Monitor assembly operations to determine compliance


+ Create teams to address customer issues


+ Perform other duties deemed necessary by the Quality Manager


Duties also include assisting in the day-to-day management of the Environmental Management System. Following all environmental work instruction and / or cleaning up spills or other duties required of the Environmental 1st Response Team.


+ Actively participates in Health/Safety/Environmental investigations and the 8D process in order to develop root cause analysis for problem resolution as required.


+ Ensure required Safety Audits are complete for you and your team.


+ Reporting accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies, and inform supervisor of known HSE&E conditions which could adversely affect other team members, assets or to the public.


+ Ensures compliance with all safety procedures and ensures safe working procedures in assigned production areas.


+ Coordinates any required safety and/or ergonomic training with the Health & Safety Coordinator _._


**QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:**

**REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:**


+ BS Degree in a Technical discipline or equivalent experience required


+ Previous supplier relations experience


+ Strong written and oral communication skills, computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.


+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions


+ Familiar with ISO 9000 Standards


+ 2 or more years experience in the automotive environment all customer return material analysis root causes and corrective actions.
