Driver Manager

This position manages all company drivers, controls and dispatches company equipment and drivers so that customer orders and the delivery of products are completed in accordance with plans established by the department Planner and Manager. This position is also responsible for monitoring driver activities to assure that customer requirements for delivery, and requirements for safety and compliance with DOT standards, are being met. This position is accountable for clear, timely communication to all drivers and stakeholders and for the specification and effective use of related technology.

Primary Duties:

• Working effectively within RTI and other Rockwell operating departments to effectively manage the operation of RTI in the execution of the department and delivery of customer orders

• Assignment and dispatch of drivers to planned routes and equipment

• Supervise the work activity of assigned Drivers

• Monitor driver performance in accordance with requirements for safety and compliance with DOT standards

• Perform regular performance reviews with Drivers in accordance with Rockwell Medical policy

• Provide necessary reports associated with payroll requirements

• Control the activity of drivers and equipment in the pick-up, routing and delivery of customer orders

• Responsibility for the location and disposition of company-owned tractors, trailers, and related equipment

• Maintain regular contact with all drivers in order to determine their location, hours of service status, and disposition

• Administer policies with drivers that involve driver control and discipline

• Report all driver discipline problems to the Transportation Manager

• Refer all claims from drivers and customers to the Transportation Manager

• Maintain all required reports and forms that are necessary for the functions of the Transportation Department.

• Review logistics performance with customers and Rockwell management against Key Performance Indicators, targets, benchmarks and service agreements

• Clearly understand the goals, policies and procedures of the company.

• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's degree in business administration with a focus in project management, logistics or transportation.

Preferred Experience

• 2 to 3 years of experience in transportation driver management and trucking operations management

• Experience in the effective use of related technologies
