As a Business Development Project Manager within the OptumRx 340B organization, you will be responsible for creating project plans, developing the execution plans, facilitating efforts across multiple business functions, and managing timelines to achieve our strategic goals. As a part of the Business Development team you will be supporting strategic efforts to continuously grow and evolve our 340B service offerings in tandem with market needs. In addition, this position will be responsible for providing project management expertise in project planning, execution, and monitoring to include understanding workflow, and creating a collaborative environment to work effectively throughout the organization to ensure alignment of strategy and approach.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Scope, define and drive critical projects across Optum 340B
  • Develop, communicate, and implement project risk/issue management plans and strategies
  • Lead the project or workstream level planning and holding stakeholders accountable to ensure project goals are met
  • Build consensus among stakeholders
  • Drive project execution and delivery on critical milestones
  • Escalate risks and issues to program leadership as needed
  • Complete initiatives with leadership and/or internal client satisfaction
  • Develop visual models and processes to support project processes (e.g. Visio, process mapping, PPT)
  • Experience in delivering on business process and/or operational projects
  • Document and update key project artifacts including project plan, issues logs, status reports
  • Ability to influence and work with internal and external stakeholders/resources to move projects forward and overcome any challenges
  • Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects
  • Work collaboratively to build and cultivate cross-functional, cross-Optum relationships with internal and external stakeholders to gain support, identify opportunities, and enable action
  • Constructively challenge current thinking, supporting change improve of our internal processes and external offerings
  • Contribute to continued organizational growth by sharing knowledge, promoting a positive team environment, mentoring others and continual self-development
  • Ability to travel up to 10%. Exceptions will be assessed for health conditions and restrictions
  • Support building out standard framework for project process including tools and templates
  • Support development and alignment of key performance indicators for operational execution and evolve our business integration processes

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • 3+ years of experience in one of the following: project management, consulting, managing government program initiatives
  • Experience with reporting to various leadership levels on project progress, issues, and risks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Business, Healthcare, MIS or related field
  • Six Sigma certification - Ability to perform root cause analysis and identify business process efficiency opportunities
  • Knowledge/experience in 340B federal program
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, time/project management, problem solving and organizational management
  • Ability to effectively deal with levels of ambiguity and effectively cope with change

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $87,900 to $156,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
