Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple product engineering teams accountable for software delivery
- Accountable for seeing that engineering team delivers on business capability commitments
- Serve as a leader in agile software delivery and DevOps engineering culture practices; work with engineering leads and product teams to ensure agile delivery and DevOps best practices are established and followed on the program (e.g., test automation, ATDD, frequent releases to reduce TTV)
- Drive innovation, automation, and quality
- Ensure IT operations best practices are established, including (but not limited to) site reliability engineering practices, proactive monitoring, incident management rotation, CI/CD, and release compliance automation
- Understand and apply strategic priorities across both business and technology
- Partner with business and capability/product team to make product decisions and prioritize roadmap
- Collaborate across technology and business teams on key strategic integrations and deliverables
- Develop leaders within the engineering team; establish an effective software engineering cultur
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in IT Application Development
- 4+ years managing and leading technical teams in a large enterprise environment
- Hands-on coding skills to solve for complex areas of the application and complex defects
- Solid technical knowledge and skills on GraphQL, Angular, Azure Cloud, Kafka streaming
- Product Development experience
- Solid leadership capabilities and the ability to influence staff and management of internal and external IT partners
- Solid background in applications development methodologies, SDLC and other IT industry standards
- Demonstrated ability to obtain a thorough understanding of strategic business goals, recommend technology solutions and build credibility with customers and other IT partners
- Solid technical skills and background needed to support the oversight of development and management of complex multi-platform environments
- Experience with Java Enterprise Edition (EE) and web technologies
- Experience working on large, enterprise applications
- Knowledge and understanding of design patterns and concepts
- Solid project/program management, customer service and conflict management skills that can be applied in providing support and direction to team members, key business and IT staff leading projects
- Extremely organized with a strong sense of priority, urgency, and commitment to deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong interpretive skills, as well as the ability to effectively present, negotiate, influence, and build consensus
- Change agent, results oriented and operations focused

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada residents is $110,200 to $211,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
