Job DescriptionResponsible for ensuring that transactions are properly accounted for and recording journal entries. Responsible for accounting and reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Assist with month end close, allocations, and governance of the general ledger. Partner with business and internal Finance partners to develop and implement accounting practices consistent with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).ResponsibilitiesPerform accounting processes for a variety of transactions in accordance with GAAP internal and external policies, procedures and authorizations. Prepare journal entries dealing with more complex accounting functions. Review, analyze, and resolve more moderately complex issues in accounting transactions. Follow specific and detailed accounting procedures. Assist in the creation and maintenance of allocation rules. Coordinate and prepares quarterly reports for inclusion in External Reporting.Improve processes to ensure that integrity, control and optimal efficiency are established while minimizing financial risks. Develop and implements process improvement initiatives. Flexibility to work on ad-hoc projects as needed/requested. Provides functional advice and consultation to business partners and assess impact of changes to business as usual processes. Recommend, develop, implement and train staff on changes that improve standardization, increase efficiency and enhance controls. Provides technical accounting advice for the organization and act as subject matter expert to company and regulated accounting policies. May be the organizational expert on certain accounting functions. Leads complex projects, determines action plans and may escalate issues and resolutions to leadership. Provide direction and lead other accountants.Required QualificationsBachelors degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance5+ years accounting experienceGeneral ledger experienceStrong analytical and problem solving skillsProficient with current desktop tools, specifically ExcelPreferred QualificationsExperience having lead project initiativesCPAApply "root cause analysis" to obtain the origination of critical operational and financial problems and protectively apply action steps to resolve issuesStrong understanding of systems, controls, accounting knowledge, financials, and processes within multiple legal entitiesStrong understanding of the end-to-end process flows, systems, controls and impacts across products and business lines they supportStrong technical ability using the general ledger, spreadsheets, Access databases and word processing applicationsAbility to work independently and self-direct to meet prioritiesAbout Our CompanyWith the right company, life can Be Brilliant.
