Contract for our innovative team at Evolve Additive Solutions and you'll be working on the world's most advanced additive manufacturing 3D printer technology and bringing additive 3D polymer printing to mainstream production manufacturing. Evolve Additive Solutions is changing how the world manufactures, with our disruptive STEP (Selective Thermoplastic Electrophotographic Process) technology that powers our SVP (Scaled Volume Production) additive manufacturing printers and exclusive printing materials. Already successful as a development stage company, we lead by example to our advanced manufacturing customers, in everything we do as a manufacturing, materials management and service company.
Position Description/Responsibilities
The Contract Technical Writer will serve an essential role documenting the various technical guides, procedures, and technology in support of the entire company. They understand that the ability to transform an entire industry relies on ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex information in an understandable form. This role will interface with each department in coordination with the Senior Director of Global Operations. The term of this contract is expected to be 6 months.
Responsibilities
- Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
- Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions.
- Meet with subject-matter experts within and outside of the company to develop an understanding of various technologies, procedures, and methodologies.
- Create, update, and manage the following types of documentation, which may be a combination of written, video, or "live-screen" capture:
- Customer facing publications
- System user manual
- Software user manual
- System maintenance and operation manual
- Facility readiness guide
- Training curricula and syllabus for system, software, process and DfAM/STEP (Design for Additive Manufacturing / STEP)
- Marketing collateral and website content such as product features and specifications
- Internal quality procedures with a focus toward ISO-9001
- Internal technical training guides
- Product topics to include hardware use, software use, maintenance, operation instructions, and safety guidelines
- Documentation that meets CE certification standards with consideration toward translations
- Documentation structure to support product upgrades and updates
- Works with outside vendors in the translation of technical documents as necessary
- Handles sensitive and confidential information in appropriate manner
- Communicates professionally and effectively with staff, vendors, and customers
- Collaborates to improve processes and procedures
- Maintains a high level of consistency through all work processes
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year as a technical writer, preferably in technical products, software, and capital equipment
- Proficient use of common and technical word processing software
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the company
- Writing samples will be required as part of the interview process
Differentiating Characteristics and Aspirations
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- 3-5 years of experience as a technical writer in a manufacturing or technology development environment
- The ability to travel approximately 5%, including internationally
