Job description

The Business Systems Analyst will be part of a team responsible for defining, designing, analyzing, delivering, testing, and supporting IT business systems. The scope of these business systems includes ERP (primarily SAP), Transportation Management, Inventory/Distribution, EDI, Reporting/BI, as well as in-house developed applications. They will build and maintain effective relationships with key business stakeholders by offering guidance and recommendations on process and system initiatives aligned with company goals. They must be able to effectively communicate and properly manage their time while providing on-going business system support and analysis, including development of business cases, business requirement and process documentation, test scenarios, and training materials.

Initially, on-site 100%, so must live nearby. Long term, some work from home days would be possible.

Job Description

  • Design, analyze, develop ROIs, prepare management approval reviews, and implement new business processes for Sales, Manufacturing, Inventory, Distribution, and Supply Chain business units for a multi-faceted manufacturing/distribution company
  • Apply technical & functional knowledge to create world-class solution architecture that effectively integrates with business units' operations
  • Build & maintain relationships with stakeholders to understand current & future business requirements and strategies for IT services & systems
  • Document business needs and distinguish between needs and wants
  • Identify gaps between business needs and standard application functionality and design and document solutions that fill the gaps
  • Provide detailed business requirements specifications for developers
  • Develop, document, and execute test plans to assess integrity and accuracy of business processes, functional modifications/enhancements, etc.
  • Maintain business process and end user training documentation and deliver training as required
  • Support, analyze, and resolve production application issues as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, or related discipline with an IT focus is preferred
  • Two years or more experience as Business Systems Analyst or similar role preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing and distribution strongly preferred
  • Experience with SDLC, developing application requirements, writing functional specs for software development, and application/data testing and analysis is strongly preferred
  • In-depth understanding or relational databases, complex query development, and report development is required
  • Experience with SQL and Microsoft Office Applications is required
  • Two or more years of work experience within the SAP ECC or S/4 HANA SD and MM space strongly preferred
  • Experience with BOBJ/Web Intelligence and HANA in preferred
  • Experience with software integration, APIs, automation, and EDI is preferred
  • Experience with Shipping and Transportation Software, especially ShipERP, preferred
  • Advanced time management and analytical skills
  • Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Motivated self-starter that can work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multitask and collaborate in a functional, technical, multidiscipline, high performing team to plan and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Strong quantitative, analytical & problem-solving skills, with ability to use analysis, judgment & logic to solve problems and make decisions
  • Able to maintain awareness and knowledge of relevant, existing and emerging technologies and the impact they have on business operations
