Job description

• Provide administrative supervision, leadership, guidance, and feedback to staff to facilitate smooth operations including on-call duties.
• Provide adequate nursing staff coverage according to policies and submit time and payroll accurately and in a timely manner.
• Carry out personnel actions on staff accurately and timely including hiring, training, evaluating, monitoring, and disciplining, with documentation submitted in a timely manner.
• Ensure the nursing staff is providing direct patient care through utilization of nursing standards accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure the nursing staff is following policies, procedures, and medical/lab protocol for nursing care and notify doctor of results accurately and in a timely manner.
• Report pertinent information and/or changes in the patients' condition to the physician, and/or on-call nurse as appropriate and in a timely manner.
• Provide patient, staff, and family education as related to medication, illness, etc. and participate in consultations including Diagnostic Evaluations as needed.
• Ensure Health Services participation in team conferences, staffings, and reviews as assigned.
• Ensure nursing staff prepares and administers medications as ordered by the physician accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure medication administration is charted by staff nursing on the MAR and nurse's notes, if applicable, accurately and in a timely manner.

• Ensure prescribed medication is ordered accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure provided nursing care and appropriate records related to patients' progress and activities are documented accurately and in a timely manner (i.e., I/A reports, medical charts, worker's comp reports, written training programs, daily/midnight census, diet updates, etc.)
• Ensure physician's orders are transcribed accurately and in a timely manner by the nursing staff.
• Assist in investigations of risk management issues when needed
• Provide follow-up with monthly Pharmacy Report and assist Pharmacy Consultant in developing initial/annual assessments.
• Provide care and/or conduct patient/resident interactions in an age/cultural appropriate manner.
• Follows all safety policies and adhere to all worker's compensation program guidelines.
