What You'll Be Doing:

Creates original Bill of Ladings for customers to include specifications as to labels, dates, and third party addresses that must be included on these documents, as well as, specific carrier requirements and information. Ensures all shipped orders are properly documented and invoiced.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Checks EDI Operations for planned to ship orders on specified days.
  • Creates Bill of Lading using pick slip
  • Ensures that special instructions are met for each customer
  • Proceeds with carrier pick-ups and loading process Invoices all loaded and shipped orders.
  • Responsible for the daily processing and scheduling of all outbound shipments
  • Ensures all requirements for a particular order have been met by the Traffic, Planning, and Operations Department prior to it physically shipping Reviews and troubleshoots any exception orders.
  • Facilitates the effective and efficient processing of all outbound paperwork.
  • Coordinates and processes all paperwork and ensures that the customer's orders ship according to the ship dates and ship logs provided by the Traffic Department Review current reports on a daily basis to ensure nothing has been missed by Traffic, Planning, or Operations Department.
  • Works closely with Customer Service and Vendor Compliance on all the special notations and dates required by some customers that must be notated on the Bills of Lading.
  • Works closely with operations team and planning for effective ways to process and load orders.
  • Assists on other shifts to support the business.
  • Communicates with supervisors and other key personnel between shifts, as well as, within a shift.
  • Supports other departmental managers and supervisors, as needed.

Requirements for Consideration:

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Able to derive and utilize mathematical models.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • General knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control practices.
  • Requires common knowledge of weight breaks and carrier usage by customer.
  • Must be familiar with VICS standard Bill of Lading, pick tickets, packing list, and other necessary documents that must be attached with all shipments.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 year' of relevant experience
  • Basic knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Typing WPM 35 words per minute
  • Physically able to lift 50 pounds
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must be able to work 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
