Job Title: Sr. Manager, Device Accessory Management

Location: US-MS-Ridgeland

Overview:

Direct oversight responsibility for maximizing efficiency of all device and accessory selection, planning, forecasting, purchasing, reporting and inventory management supporting Retail line of business while working within the approved inventory budget. Drive toward a JIT inventory scheme while minimizing obsolescence, improving inventory accuracy and productivity. SME in design, development and implementation of new inventory planning and purchasing system.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee and provide guidance to purchasing managers while maintaining department-wide industry knowledge and best practices for device and accessory management.
  • Ensure training and cross-training of all activities and responsibilities within department.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of automation to support all department forecasting, sourcing, procurement, invoicing, and reporting functions.
  • Coordinate with Retail Ops, Marketing, and Finance using budgets, historical sales, and promotional plans to develop and document forecasts that ensure correct SKU mix (right item at right place at right time) over the total product life cycles of all handsets and accessories.
  • Lead and direct customer (Retail Ops, Marketing, Finance) relations/communications.
  • Lead and direct Purchasing relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent inventory supply, optimal order to delivery turnaround times, adequate launch notifications, and completion of term sheets.
  • Develop Reporting tools and metrics to allow Marketing, Retail Ops, and Finance to participate and contribute to Purchasing strategy development/application.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    Bachelors' degree or equivalent work experience required. Eight to ten years progressive experience required in managing, planning, purchasing, and/or supply chain management in support of highly volatile product sales and supply. Negotiation experience required. Experience in Telecom and/or Technical industry preferred. Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or other certification a plus. Ability to respond rapidly and effectively to changing business needs. Ability to plan, organize and handle multiple tasks independently. Demonstrated decision-making and follow up skills; excellent interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other departments within the company. Competent with MS Excel; excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse while viewing computer screen. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Schedule may include some evenings and Saturdays. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
