Job Summary:
This position provides environmental support to the plant on air, water and waste issues. It also monitors and maintains environmental programs as assigned to insure compliance in accordance with federal/state/local regulations.
Job Description:
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with the monitoring of all environmental aspects of the plant operation and works to ensure that the facility remains in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Responsible for assisting in the gathering and preparation of required reports to federal and state agencies and for the maintenance of such records and files.
- Is a resource to plant operations to address daily environmental concerns.
- Responsible to ensure compliance of Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC), Storm Water Pollution Prevention, Title V Air Permit, NPDES Permit, and Risk Management Plans (RMP) as required.
- Participates in training, stack testing and working with outside services as necessary to maintain compliance with environmental regulations.
- Performs incident investigations and prepares reports for environmental incidents.
- Performs refresher training to plant personnel on key permit guidelines to maintain compliance.
- Works closely with operations in monitoring daily key parameters to ensure compliance.
- Assist with environmental capital projects as assigned.
- Works to assist with compliance of site PSM /RMP programs.
- Key resource for monitoring the daily compliance of site Consent Decree.
Successful incumbents will have:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably environmental or chemical engineering
- 2+ years environmental experience desired
- Knowledge of state, local and U.S. Government regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Position requires effective organizational skills, time management
