Product Safety Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Product Safety Supervisor is responsible for providing quality and food safety support and leadership throughout his/her facility. This position ensures that Golden Triangle Energy operations are handled in accordance with the industry regulations and current Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. Will lead a BRC Food Safety Program for the facility.
Product Safety and Quality Role and Responsibilities:
The Primary job function for the Product Safety Supervisor is to ensure the continued compliance of Golden Triangle Energy, LLC with food safety and quality, laboratory activities, training, proficiency assessments, regulatory and customer requirements as well as GMP programs as part of the BRC program.
The Product Safety Supervisor is required to work closely with all other departments/areas of the business (procurement, operations, marketing, etc.) to ensure the appropriate implementation and maintenance of necessary documents and actions to meet Golden Triangle's commitment to produce safe and wholesome spirits within the defined requirement of the BRC Code.
The Product Safety Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of food regulatory duties within Golden Triangle Energy, LLC such as OSHA and ATF/State of Missouri regulation for spirits, DOT oversight for transportation of bulk spirits, potential for FDA oversight under Food Safety Modernization, and any other voluntary programs such as USDA Organic, Certified Gluten-Free, Fair Trade Certified and Kosher (as applicable).
Job Functions:
•Assist Quality Manager with maintaining the various Quality Assurance files, including internal audit, supplier assessment documentation
•Handles compliance with regulatory standards, systems, processes, and SOP's
•Run or participate in regular BRC meetings (HACCP Team, management review, production, safety, Food Defense, Recall, etc.
•Assesses regulatory pathways for new product platforms and product modifications
•Train and effectively communicate food safety requirements to all company employees
•Participate or lead threat assessment each year and to assure that defense and site security is adequate to control risks
•Lead all aspects of non-conformity investigations; assures root cause analysis and review is conducted
•Prepare graphs, charts, and reports from test results
•Review risk assessments for the site/environment, environment monitoring, foreign material/sharps, and process activities for accuracy
•Monitor the quality and safety of incoming ingredients and manufactured products
•Effectively lead all facility colleagues to establish understanding of food safety and quality standards and drive improvement in food safety culture
•Complete any other tasks assigned by manger
Job Qualifications:
•Preferred Bachelor's degree or equivalent 2 years Food Safety experience
•Preventative Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) trained (Preferred)
•Knowledge of applicable food regulations and requirements
•Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
•Must be organized, possess time management skills and be able to meet time restraints
•Ability to make decisions based on information and data available
•Ability to work as a team member and provide training
•Ability to use basic computer software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT, .PDF.
•Demonstrate experience of effective leadership
