What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the business requirements gathering and process modeling phases of the software development lifecycle and creating enterprise process documentation for Data Management and Analytics.
  • Providing expertise and direction in business processes functionality and needs, documentation, business rules, and system functions while interfacing with customers on business, technical, and data requirements.
  • Providing subject matter expertise for data management and data analytics processes and functionality needs for technology teams in assigned program.
  • Fully documenting all product functions, business rules, and business processes.
  • Coordinating the development of functional requirements documents that include a detailed description of user needs, application integration, reporting functions, and business rules to ensure the needs of the stakeholders are met.
  • Communicate technical concepts in a business context; communication across varying teams, both IT and business operations, customized appropriately to audience.
  • Anticipating and identifying issues, then developing recommendations and courses of action which are consistent with business objectives and functional requirements.
  • Conducting testing; leading and documenting user acceptance testing.
  • Continuously evaluating effectiveness and identifying opportunities for streamlining and improvement.
  • Defining new system capabilities to improve production or workflow as required.
  • Preparing process flows, charts and diagrams to specify business processes in detail.
  • Understanding and supporting product strategy, roadmaps and timelines for execution.
  • Identifying and applying technology-based solutions to support solutions required for business problems.
  • Utilizing iterative delivery methodologies and incorporating these methodologies for timely and successful product delivery.
  • Effectively managing multiple needs and competing priorities at once while ensuring critical business needs are being met at the appropriate time.
What we need from you:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline with an information technology focus (necessary to develop self-direction, writing ability, critical thinking, and foundations of programming and software delivery fundamentals).
  • Significant business and technical experience over data management and analytics will be considered.
  • Interpersonal/Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with the customer and technology partners. Must be articulate and capable of conveying complex and technical ideas clearly/concisely; sensitive to needs of the audience; ensures the customer, as well as service areas within Technology & Systems are kept informed of plans, status, and current problems/challenges; manages around internal politics; empathetic, good listener.
  • Strong negotiation skills to reach agreement on realistic requirements scope and schedule.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead meetings with multiple teams. Clearly articulate complicated processes and issues in a meaningful way. Build consenscoalitions amongst diverse (or divergent) interests; acts with integrity; takes the initiative; exercises sound judgment; sets the example.
  • Analytical/Problem Solving: Intellectual capacity and ability to gather, sort and analyze data and then develop logical conclusions; critical thinking skills; familiar with problem solving tools/techniques and able to communicate options, conclusions, and recommendations to both the business and the technology teams.
  • Understands how to apply the tools of iterative delivery using Kanban boards and agile concepts.

1. POSITION PURPOSE:
  • This position will be responsible for the business requirements analysis, process modeling standards, and related business process documentation for both commercial off the shelf (COTS) and custom application environments relating to the Data and Analytics program.
  • Leads the business requirements gathering and process modeling phases of the software development lifecycle and is responsible for the enterprise process model documentation. Additionally, responsible for leading business teams through user acceptance testing of new solutions.
  • Provides expertise and direction in business processes functionality and needs, documentation, business rules, and system functions while interfacing with customers on business, technical, and data requirements.
  • Acts as subject matter expert for business processes and functionality needs for technology teams in his/her assigned program within Data Management and Analytics.
  1. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Acts as subject matter expert for his/her assigned program within Data Management and Analytics. Develops and maintains a deep understanding of current business processes and future needs. Provides input to IT teams on business process, critical needs and functionality priority.

Ongoing Process Modeling:
Leads the development of process models to meet the needs of the organization's application systems. Manages the flow of information between departments through the use of COTS and customer applications. Maintains process integrity by working to eliminate redundancy.

Leads the development of functional requirements documents that include a detailed description of user needs, program functions, and business rules to ensure compatibility and integration of applications that meet the needs of the stakeholders.

Program & Project Planning:
Provide input to Project Managers, Program Managers and team into project plans and future roadmaps for their assigned program.

Establish, maintain, and optimize relationships with resource and technology vendors and partners, aligning the overall utilization of their resources optimally to provide best total cost of ownership and return on investment.

  1. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
  • KNOWLEDGE: Include professional expertise/theories essential to perform the job, knowledge of equipment, technology and software.
  • Demonstrated proficiency writing clear and concise requirements as well as facilitating requirements gathering sessions.

  • Prepares data and systems workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail operations to be performed by equipment and data analytics/computer programs, and operations to be performed by personnel in the system.
  • Create mockup reports as and when necessary part of data visualization requirements documentation and walk through the same with stakeholders for approval
  • Proactively anticipate and identify issues, then develop recommendations and courses of action which are consistent with business objectives and functional requirements.

  • Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.
