Buyer/Planner

The Kansas City Clinical Supply Services Buyer performs all tasks associated with the procurement of components necessary to complete the clinical and/or commercial packaging of client orders. This role is primarily responsible for ensuring that commitments made to clients are fulfilled in terms of timely receipt of components needed for orders. This position has overall responsibility for managing the procurement of client supplied and Catalent procured components.

The Role

* Responsible for the procurement of all material components required to complete packaging jobs. Must ensure that sufficient material is available to support production, while not procuring excessive inventory that will be prone to obsolescence.
* Enters appropriate information from onboarding requests in to the inventory management system to create and track Purchase Orders for Catalent owned and Client supplied packaging materials.
* Creates receiving paperwork & uploads receiving paperwork to the Material Tracker (or other designated location)
* Initiates and maintains phone and email contact with vendors for quotations and timely procurement of supplied components, including tooling. This contact includes vendor follow-up for items that do not arrive as scheduled or when need by dates are updated due to timeline revision.
* Monitors inventory for Catalent owned items to ensure timely procurement
* Attends Kick-off meetings to review needed order information and to provide feedback regarding outstanding required information.

The Candidate

* BS in Business Management or related field, or equivalent.
* Previous buying experience preferred.
* Working knowledge of MRP preferred.
* cGMP experience, preferred
* Clinical packaging experience a plus.
* Experience utilizing planning techniques/systems preferred.
* Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
