Job description

Title: Fundraising Events Coordinator
Department: Development
Reports to: Chief Development Officer
Category: Full-Time (Exempt)
Supervises: Volunteer Support for Events
Salary: $30,000 - $49,999



Commitment: This position is responsible for managing all KC Pet Project fundraising events including community fundraisers, signature events and more when the purpose of the event is fundraising and development.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversees, manages, and executes all KC Pet Project produced fundraising events including, but not limited to: Hoops for Hounds, Caturday, a 10 Year Anniversary event, and more.
  • Secures sponsors in partnership with the chief development officer to meet revenue goals for each event.
  • Create events budgets (expense and revenue) in partnership with chief development officer for each event.
  • Oversees, manages, and executes all in-kind donation efforts for event support (i.e. silent auction items, raffle items, event logistics support, food, beverage, etc.)
  • Build relationships with existing partners and identify and build relationships with new KC Pet Project event partners.
  • Coordinates and executes, collaboratively across KC Pet Project Departments, all Snuggle Service events (must be comfortable handling puppies and kittens often in partnership with a foster family in the KC Pet Project Foster Program).
  • Manage community fundraising and development events and coordinate details with each business, school, or organization. Act as KC Pet Project representative at community fundraising events or identify volunteer support for community representation.
  • Works cooperatively with the KC Pet Project Volunteer Program and all volunteers, recognizing the talent and commitment they bring to the organization, especially as it relates to community outreach through fundraising.
  • Manages all reporting related to fundraising events.
  • Works as a team member with the marketing, development, and volunteer departments to meet goals by providing input and creativity, and commitment to fundraising.
  • Provide support to the Friends of KC Pet Project group's fundraising efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum two (2) years corporate sales and/or fundraising experience required
  • Minimum three (3) years event planning/management experience preferred
  • Stewardship experience strongly preferred
  • The ability to write clearly and accurately using proper grammar
  • Creativity and willingness to try new approaches and receive constructive feedback
  • Software experience with Classy is preferred
  • CRM experience is preferred
  • Must be able to work in a crowded, busy environment if necessary
  • Able to work some nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Possession of valid driver's license
