The Director, Learning and Development will evolve, drive and implement the strategy for learning and development and sustainable learning platforms through curriculum assessment and design, programming and cross-team collaboration. You will partner directly with leaders to assess organizational needs, identify root causes and develop scalable solutions to promote and support team effectiveness. A key focus on cohesive and integrated learning processes for a high-performance culture will support continuously improving capabilities, cultivate growth and foster learning engagement for employees. You will lead a team of L&D consultants that actively develop, creatively design and implement effective methods for maintaining the learning infrastructure in a cost-effective manner and with high quality standards. You will drive all work for the L&D team in alignment with American Century's Winning Behaviors and business priorities. The role reports to the Vice President, Talent, Development and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Develops and leads learning, development and organizational effectiveness strategies, practices and processes. Leads the design and implementation of programs and innovative solutions tailored to meet organizational goals and priorities and drives organizational commitment to improvement. Collaborates with global partners, vendors and consultants to design and deploy learning and development strategies. Develops tools and materials that support implementation and puts evaluation and measurement tools in place to assess success and identify areas for continuous improvement. Designs, plans and delivers engaging learning experiences for senior leaders and people managers enabling them and their teams to move the business forward. Provides leadership development expertise and consultation to the business to help identify optimal solutions for organizational and leadership issues. Builds and leads the individual development planning process for leaders and employees. Leads and maintains leadership development for high-potential talent, focused on leadership readiness, business fundamentals and professional growth. Designs, develops, implements and delivers virtual, live or blended custom and off-the-shelf content. Ensures that learning solutions align with established budget, policies, procedures and workplace culture. Oversees and ensures effectiveness of the management, implementation and roll out of solutions: assigning appropriate audiences, determining and coordinating scheduling and logistics, procuring equipment, coordinating communications, conducting pilots, identifying and recognizing needed edits and revisions, testing functionality of eLearning resources and solutions, evaluating effectiveness and facilitating improvements, vendor management, etc. Supervises the development and maintenance content resources in the learning management system to ensure accurate offerings, catalogs and assignments for compliance and policy purposes. Conducts and facilitates training, workshops and teambuilding. Serves as a trusted advisor to the HR business partner, change management and people experience teams for driving solutions to achieve expected outcomes. Preferred Qualifications: Strong leadership skills - influences and drives ground-breaking change. Proven track record planning and managing time, projects and multiple priorities in fast-paced environment with strong results/goal orientation; adaptable to changing priorities. Partners effectively and builds strong relationships with credibility and trust, with team members and internal partners to create a harmonious work environment. Results oriented thought partner with ability to proactively manage issues, risks, potential challenges and barriers and when to raise them. Strong research skills with eye for quality, innovation, and attention to detail, while keeping strategy and broader objectives at forefront. Collaboration skills to effectively partner with internal customers. Ability to maintain confidential information and handle sensitive situations. Solid verbal and written communication skills, listening skills and ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization including senior management. Ability to present, facilitate, and build and foster an inclusive learning environment, address difficult questions, and effectively challenge the status quo. Maintains business or leadership coaching credential or Gallup Strengths certification strongly recommended. Has organizational change experience; Prosci ADKAR familiarity a plus. Project management: ability to balance multiple, concurrent projects in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Required Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in instructional design methodologies, project management and facilitation in an L&D, educational, organizational development/effectiveness, talent management and/or human resources environment. Served as a Learning Leader for team. Proven success working with senior business leaders. Designing and implementing learning strategy, including instructional design. Leading learning and development projects. Managing vendor relationships. Working independently and as a collaborative teammate. Financial Services preferred, although not required.
