About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to review all closed loans to ensure they can be delivered to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Private Investors and can, if applicable, be insured/guaranteed by HUD/VA. This job also receives and logs collateral documents such as the Note and Deeds of Trust.

Essential Functions

* Review closed loan documents for accuracy and compliance with all state and federal lending regulations

* Ensure all required credit and legal documents are included in the final loan file

* Coordinate procurement of missing document and data corrections with department colleagues

* Follow-up and receive closed loan packages and submit files for government insurance

* Disburse loan proceeds and pay FHA insurance premiums, VA funding fees and upfront borrower paid mortgage insurance

* Create insuring package for FHA loans and activate private mortgage insurance

* Image closed loan document packages, monitor electronic mailbox and complete daily deposits

* Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

* Basic understanding of the mortgage industry guidelines and regulations

* Ability to effectively solve problems with sound judgment as well as critical and analytical decision-making skills

* Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

* Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

* Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values

* Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Education & Experience

* Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

* 2+ years general office experience, mortgage post-closing experience, or basic accounting experience within mortgage lending required

* Experience using Encompass or similar Loan Origination System preferred

* Experience using Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae's automated underwriting system preferred
