Required Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelor's degree
* Work Experience: Experience of human subject research in data collection and exercise intervention. Knowledge of protein assay techniques; molecular and genetic techniques; ability to follow directions/procedures
* Skills: Must be a meticulous, detail-oriented person, interested in learning new technology.
* Skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, and data management.

* Education: Master's degree
* Work Experience: Job-related experience in clinical research and data analysis. Knowledge of and hands-on experience with protein assay techniques, and molecular and genetic techniques.

Job Duties Outlined:

* The individual with this job will be working in both clinical research and molecular research laboratories and will be responsible for assisting with clinical and laboratory research efforts that may include human subject blood sample collection and analysis, clinical data collection, exercise intervention, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR amplification, use and maintenance of automated equipment and analyzers.

* Recruiting research participants from hospital clinics. Conducting informed consent and subject assessment. Collecting clinical data and blood samples.

* Conducting human exercise intervention including subject education and training, leading group exercise sessions, and monitoring subject's performance.

* Responsible for the technical processing of clinical samples. Processing may include receiving and logging in all clinical samples, specimen preparation and storage, protein concentration analysis, isolation of DNA/RNA from samples, performing protein and nucleic acid assays according to the procedures, and preliminary data interpretation.

* Responsible for specimen and DNA/RNA storage, data collection and record keeping.

* Assist with new protocols and troubleshoot existing assays as needed by the guidelines of the lab director/manager.

* Report to the lab director/manager, and troubleshoot technical problems as they arise, including appropriate documentation.

* Follow established quality control and quality assurance policies and procedures, including appropriate documentation. Complete all clerical data entry.

* Order supplies and negotiate prices on lab consumables.

* Perform other duties as assigned.
