The primary purpose of this position is as follows:

Resident expert for all sales and use tax matters and ensures that the company is in compliance with various tax codes and regulations at the state and local levels.

Duties and Responsibilities

Listed below are the primary duties that will be performed, in the order of importance.

(The most "important" duty is not necessarily the duty which requires the most time.)

• Review state exemption certificates and enter valid project and resale exemption certificates in Vertex Cloud

• Research and resolve customer sales tax disputes

• File monthly and quarterly sales tax returns

• Respond to both internal and external tax questions regarding taxability of the Company's products and services, tax exemptions, etc.

• Research and resolve internal use tax matters

• Upon receipt of exemption certificate, review customer unpaid invoices to determine if tax credits should be issued. Review paid invoices that could be tax exempt and contact customers directly.

• Assist with the implementation of Vertex Returns Outsourcing
