Position Description Summary:
Responsible for functional management and support of the product direction, and control of operations, sales development, employees and budget adherence at a single station/branch, cluster or Gateway ($50m plus annual revenue). Principal Accountabilities (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):
- Manage and direct the overall customer facing activity with oversight of product operations and service functions on a daily basis
- Direct leadership of customer service support functions in conjunction with the respective product leader in the location(s). Ensure customer retention and resolution to customer complaints and issues are properly addressed and documented through the management escalation process
- Work with vendors, service suppliers, and customers to evaluate and promote services
- Profit and loss responsibility for the station/branch/cluster in conjunction with product. Support all administrative and financial functions associated with the station/branch/cluster activities
- Work directly with product to support implementation of new service programs and maintain existing service programs
- Improve productivity through efficient scheduling, vendor performance, adherence to standard operating procedures, and implementation of new service-oriented schedules
- Support the product requirements for receipt and dispatch of freight in accordance with established routing policies. Included and not limited to proper and accurate recording of freight movement
- Maintain the security of freight in accordance with security policy
- As Quality Manager for the domiciled location, responsible for maintenance and revisions to the cross functional Company quality system as applicable to that location, including the development and execution of locally defined policies and procedures and document management
- Ensure a safe working environment through consistent practice of safety programs and procedures
- Support the selection and placement of staff, ensure staff receives training for their job activities, and define specific job assignments in conjunction with the local and/or area product management.
- Oversight of product performance metrics to ensure required levels of productivity and organizational objectives are met
- Establish and maintain positive employee relations and promote excellent internal communication. Oversee implementation of affirmative action programs as required
- Appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions

Identify and evaluate fundamental problems for major functional areas through assessment of intangible variables. Ensure product budgets, schedules, and performance requirements are met. Accountability - Direct and control the activities of one or more functional areas, divisions, products or service groups through manager with overall responsibility for the direction of those assigned areas. Has overall responsibility for planning and implementing all cross functional responsibilities. Impact of Decisions - Erroneous decisions will have a long-term effect on the company's success. Working Relationships - Interact internally and externally with executive level management requiring negotiation of extremely difficult matters to influence policy-making bodies both internally and externally Scope - Develop corporate and/or organizational policies and authorize the implementation of these policies. Provide general direction to and support with product the review of managers in various functional areas, groups, and/or operations.
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel):
This is a management level position. Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and strategic skills required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Generally prefer 6 years of related management experience. 5 years experience in sales or operations is required. Core Competencies:
