Senior Business Systems Analyst

Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports.
Authoring of process/procedural documentation, whether web based or in an alternative format. These items may include all of the following: application specific tutorials, training documentation, step-by-step procedural outlines, FAQ's, How to's, and best practices outlines.
Interfaces with appropriate governing groups in order to ascertain business application and/or customization needs, while balancing system capabilities with perceived user needs.
Responsible for the specification and maintenance of records for user access regarding access level and available data for MRP/ERP databases.
Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
Studies existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develops proposal for new systems or modifications to existing systems to improve production or workflow as required.
Prepares workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail operations to be performed by equipment and computer programs and operations to be performed by personnel in system.
Conducts studies pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs.
Plans and prepares technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of process development.
May assist computer programmer in resolution of work problems related to flow charts, project specifications, or programming.
May prepare time and cost estimates for completing projects.
Travel, shift work, and overtime may be required to accomplish some of the above tasks. May be required to be available during non-business hours to support critical applications and systems.

Accountable for the control and distribution of documents and/or equipment subject to export control restrictions and the security of FSI materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of FSI products.

Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May direct and coordinate work of others to develop, test, install, and modify programs.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: (Minimum Requirements)
BS Business Administration and 6 years practical business system analysis, administration, and process development experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
In-depth familiarity with standard concepts, practices, processes, and procedures pertaining to MRP/ERP systems.
Familiarity with relational database and client-server concepts.
Required specific application experience in formulating and applying business process and procedures utilizing Symix or Syteline.
SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Working knowledge of Windows and Unix OS's, Microsoft Office, and other Windows based programs.
Proficient UNIX usage skills.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks in a fast paced, production critical, support environment. A large degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Works under supervision, but is expected to take initiative within bounds.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
PC's, PC hardware, networking hardware, and basic office equipment
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; Able to apply concepts of basic algebra.
REASONING ABILITY:
Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
