Job description

Rynearson, Suess, Schnurbusch & Champion is seeking a Legal Billing Specialist to join its St. Louis office. This position would be responsible for processing client billing in a variety of formats depending on the needs of the client, printing of bills for attorney's review, researching and answering billing questions from attorneys, secretaries, and clients, as well as inputting and updating invoices in the accounting system, and uploading to the electronic billing system.In addition to these general tasks, legal billing specialists may also perform specific administrative duties, including:· Managing e-billing setup, management of timekeepers and coordinating/processing appeals as required.· Setting up new clients on selected e-billing platforms.· Reviewing billing guidelines and implementing those within the firm.· Proactively monitoring rejection of e-bills.· Researching and analyzing deductions and providing the best course of action for balances.· Reviewing and editing proformas in response to attorney requests.· Reporting, coordinating and notifying all e-billing clients of yearly rate increases.· Ensuring that monthly invoices are completed on time· Communicating and interacting with attorneys, secretaries, other administrative staff members, and firm clients· Reviewing bills and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness· Researching client billing questions and concerns· Responding to billing disputesRequired Qualifications:· High School diploma or equivalent· Minimum of 2 years accounts receivable experienceSkillsets needed for a successful legal billing specialist career include:· Accounting knowledge and skill· Computer literacy and the ability to learn a legal time tracking and billing program such as TABS3· Attentiveness to details and an eye for inaccuracies· Communication skills and the ability to speak with various types of people, from attorneys to clients· Ability to multitask and efficiently work within a fast-paced environment· An understanding about the confidentiality of legal practice and the ability to protect firm and client privacyJob Type: Full-timePay: From $40,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Accounting: 1 year (Preferred)Accounts Receivable: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location:One locationWork Remotely:No
